Springers & Swings

Everybody loves a swing! Even the grown ups…when no one is looking! No outdoor adventure play area with sufficient space is really complete without one. Even a simple tyre swing or a knotted rope….

Of course, there’s all manner of swings and at PLAYahead, we’ve probably been asked to design, make and install most of them. ‘Bird’s nest’ swings for less able or groups or children, toddlers cradle swings, standard flat seat swings to name the most common. All of our outdoor adventure play and playground equipment is bespoke and made to order , so if you’ve seen or imagined a swing that’s a bit different then why not ask us if it’s possible to have one of those instead.

When it comes to playground springers and rockers we have to ask someone else to make them for us, although we will still come and install them for you. There are numerous different shapes, colours and designs; sit-on or sit-in springers as well as 2-way and 4-way rockers. There are a few examples that you can see in the galleries pages, but again, if there’s something else you’d like to have then all you have to do is ask…

All of our Commercial Outdoor Play Equipment is manufactured and installed to BS EN 1176, the timber we use is pressure treated and sourced from FSC sustainable forests in the UK. It is all playgrade quality timber, specifically chosen and machined to minimise the risk of splitting and splintering.

Swings will always require safety surfacing and we can both advise you on the most cost-effective and suitable options as well as either arrange for installation or do it ourselves. Whatever option you choose it will be done to BS EN 1177.
