Playground Equipment Case Study

COMMERCIAL CASE STUDY: PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
CUSTOMER: ST STEPHENS SCHOOL

Playground Equipment Crawl TunnelSt Stephens School is based in Manchester. The site manager contacted PlayAhead as he was looking to incorporate a climbing frame, small playhouse and a crawl tunnel into the school playground and wanted ideas on the best way to do this. The equipment was primarily to be used by children in the school’s reception class.

Due to its awkward shape, the space in which the play equipment was to be located had to be carefully measured in order for PlayAhead to suggest the best types of playground equipment for installation. PlayAhead knew instantly that all equipment suggested would need to be modified to fit the space.

Playground Equipment Climbing FrameThe design for a bespoke climbing frame, small playhouse, crawl tunnel and a hexagonal tree seat around a cherry tree was presented with the head teacher, and approved.

The time from approval of the designs to installation was 9 weeks as the school had stated that they wanted the equipment installed during a half term break.
