Adventure Trail Case Study
COMMERCIAL CASE STUDY: ADVENTURE TRAIL
CUSTOMER: NEWBRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
The head teacher of Newbridge Primary School, based in Bath, contacted PlayAhead after reading about the company in Primary Times magazine.
The head knew that he wanted to incorporate an adventure trail into the school grounds that was suitable and safe for children in KS1 and KS2.
The key objective for this play equipment was that its design must aid teachers when working with pupils on team building excercises during outdoor PE classes.
Another objective was that all play equipment designed and installed should improve the children’s upper body strength and confidence.
Following a design consultation, PlayAhead designed an adventure trail which incorporated balance beams, monkey bars and a small climbing wall. A small assault course which incorporated a 3D spiders web, climbing wall with platforms, a tyre traverse and up-and-over beams was also designed. All equipment was situated on artificial grass.
The head teacher was keen to get the equipment installed by the end of the summer term so that KS2 children could make the most of it before they left. From initial design approval, the manufacture and installation process took 4 weeks.
